Artisan cake bakery creates festive treats for Lakeland
Ginger Bakers have been busily baking cakes since 2006, at the heart of that enterprise is the same family-run artisan Cumbrian bakery that it’s always been.
Owner Lisa Smith’s devilishly decadent fruitcakes, tantalising traybakes, tempting tarts, luxurious loaf cakes and sensational seasonal cakes have been enjoyed far and wide, and unsurprisingly they’ve collected one or two awards along the way too.
Which is why the UK’s leading kitchen and homeware company Lakeland approached Lisa to supply three of her festive creations for inclusion in the iconic store’s Christmas food and drink range.
Ginger Bakers joins one of only a handful of food producers to be included in the festive range, which has been carefully curated by the Lakeland buying team. The festive range is designed to showcase some of the finest artisanal produce available, and at the same time enable Lakeland’s customers to load their larders with some of the very best seasonal foodstuffs on offer.
Three of Lisa’s cake creations have been specially selected for sale at the Lakeland Flagship store in Windermere and across their UK online platform.
The first being a Lakeland branded Iced Damson and Brandy Round cake. Alongside that Lisa has also made two other cakes exclusively for Lakeland under her own branding, including a 700g Round Gluten Free Light Brandy Fruit Cake finished with a Fruit and Nut topping and a 500g Loaf Fruit Cake infused with Lakes Distillery Whisky and Orange.
“It’s always exciting for us to bring products to the table we genuinely know customers will love, especially around Christmas” said Wendy Miranda, Lakeland’s Customer Brand Ambassador.
“We were delighted to be asked to supply three of our products to Lakeland,” said Owner, Lisa Smith. She added: “We are thrilled to receive such a glowing endorsement of both the values of our company and the skills of our team in creating our unique range of cakes and bakes, as well as having this wonderful opportunity to showcase a little of our product range to a wider audience.”
