The new Selfridges Fish Counter by Eversfield Organic

A family-run organic grocery service has opened a fish counter in Selfridges Food Hall, London.

Eversfield Organic will now purvey a selection of sustainably-sourced wild fish in addition to its Butchery Counter which has provided organic meat to Selfridges customers for over two years. This was first undertaken as part of the department stores’ Project Earth movement, a transition to more sustainable agricultural production methods.

The extensive fresh fish range includes wild tuna, sole, cod, monkfish, and mussels, as well as specialty products such as King crab claws, lobster, Chilean seabass, scallops and an extensive range of other fish, crustaceans and molluscs. Each product is caught daily and labelled by specially-selected suppliers on the South West coast.

Hamish Bury, Business Development Director of Eversfield Organic, was delighted with the recent launch. He said: “This is a huge achievement for us and the culmination of a lot of work from our wonderful team who have so smoothly managed the Butchery counter.”

We practice regenerative farming on our family farm in the heart of Devon as we believe in future-proofing the food production process. We are careful to ensure that our chosen suppliers share our passion for ethical methods and offer complete transparency with customers. We feel this results in a sublime collection of products which champion the needs of the environment.”

This new venture adds to a growing movement at Eversfield Organic, which began as an online grocery service offering nationwide delivery of organic goods.

Now with three farm shops in Totnes, Tavistock, and Marlborough, as well as an organic pub at the Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale, all of which commit to reducing waste through a closed-loop sustainability system, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy Eversfield’s produce.

“We’re very proud of our new fish counter in collaboration with our friends at Selfridges,” Founder and Managing Director Mark Bury said. “It is an opportunity for more people to experience fish in an ethical way. I’ve no doubt that after tasting what we have to offer, our customers will share in our dedication to responsibly caught fish.”

The fish counter is open 10:00am to 10:00pm Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 9:00pm Saturday, and 11:30am to 6:00pm on Sunday. If you have any questions about the products, their origin or anything else, an expertly trained team of fishmongers is on hand to offer guidance.
