Walkers adds two new flavours

Walkers has added two permanent flavours to its core range, launching Sticky Teriyaki and Masala Chicken.

After one year of rigorous testing, a six-step process and 63 different flavour submissions, Walkers’ research and development team landed on two flavours that are so delicious, they simply had to be added to the permanent lineup.

In fact, a new study of crisp lovers found that they actually prefer the taste of the new and bolder flavours (49%) from Walkers over the classics (41%), such as Cheese & Onion and Salt & Vinegar, citing that both Sticky Teriyaki (68%) and Masala Chicken (66%) taste more innovative in comparison to the core flavours (47%). 

With a balance between sweet and tangy, the new Sticky Teriyaki flavour is sure to hit your senses with an array of tastes inspired by flavours from Japan.

Packing a punch of flavour, the new Masala Chicken provides a rich and spicy taste and with Tikka Masala being a firm favourite dish in the UK, the new crisps give you a bite sized flavour you can enjoy on the go. 

And when it came down to ‘crunch time’, the research spoke for itself! Three-quarters of consumers said they would be much more likely to buy Masala Chicken (73%) than the famous Prawn Cocktail (57%); They would recommend Sticky Teriyaki (65%) over Cheese and Onion (59%); and would be much more likely to choose both Sticky Teriyaki (45%) and Masala Chicken 42%) over the existing core range (30%).

After thousands of crisps crunched, flavours tested, and bags rustled, we’re pleased to bring something entirely new to the table with Sticky Teriyaki and Masala Chicken.”

Sticky Teriyaki and Masala Chicken can be purchased from the week of 11th August.
