Quality Street has lifted the lid on what Brit’s favourite sweet choices say about them, just in time for Christmas. New research revealed that The Purple One lovers are the ultimate hosts, most likely to put the kettle on, make a round of brews and chat about the weather.

Caramel Swirl fans are the champions of queuing etiquette, 55 per cent said they will happily wait their turn. If you fancy a night out, you’ll want to head out with a Toffee Penny fan, due to them being the most likely to get the first round in at the pub (34%).

When it comes to household chores, Orange Crème and The Purple One fans top the charts for taking the bins out (64%) while Coconut Éclair fans are organisers by nature – most likely to transform those holiday plans in the WhatsApp group into a reality.

Politeness and humility belong to Toffee Penny, Green Triangle and Fudge fans. Toffee Penny fans came in as the humblest of Quality Street sweet fans – with half admitting they were likely to make a joke at their own expense.

It’s no secret that Brits are a nation of apologisers. Coming in at the top of this department are Green Triangle and Fudge fans who said they’re the most likely to apologise for something that wasn’t their fault (40%).

Rachael Mundy, Marketing Manager for Nestlé Confectionery, said: “It’s been lovely to see how our favourite Quality Street sweets reflect those classic British quirks. From queueing etiquette to putting the kettle on, these little traits bring us together, just like the lively debate when a tin is opened at Christmas and everyone claims their favourite. That’s what Quality Street is all about: sharing joy and sparking moments that make the season special.”

The OnePoll research also saw Quality Street retain its crown as the number brand that ‘Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without’ for the fourth-year running, with 45% of respondents choosing it.

As well as celebrating Brit’s iconic behaviour, Quality Street has been working hard to bring sparkle to end of year celebrations. The brand wrapped up 2025 by honouring the social icons who entertained the nation this year with their viral content. The stars were announced in the first-ever Quality Street ‘Street of Fame’ at London’s Battersea Power Station earlier in December.
