Merchant Gourmet is bringing back its much-loved Christmas Chestnut Socks – created to be the perfect festive gift for foodies who want to give back. Returning by popular demand, the boldly colourful, super-comfy socks have been designed by Merchant Gourmet’s Lead Creative, Louise, and are now available exclusively via the Merchant Gourmet website.

500 pairs of socks will be available to buy and for every pair purchased, Merchant Gourmet will donate 100% of the profitsto City Harvest, helping provide nutritious meals to people facing food insecurity this Christmas. One pair of socks purchased will equate to six meals for those who need them most in the UK.

Richard Peake, Managing Director at Merchant Gourmet commented: “Christmas is all about sharing good food and giving something back – with these socks, you can do both. We’re thrilled that something as fun and festive as chestnut-themed socks can help provide real meals to people who need them most. It’s a small gift that makes a big difference.”

City Harvest rescues high-quality, edible surplus food from across the food industry and redistributes it to grassroots organisations supporting vulnerable people across London. Their work tackles two of the UK’s biggest challenges – food waste and food poverty – ensuring good food nourishes communities instead of ending up in landfill. By partnering with City Harvest, Merchant Gourmet continues its mission to support a more sustainable and socially responsible food system.

The limited-edition socks cost £10 per pair plus postage, with all profits donated directly to City Harvest.
