Alcohol-free cider poised for market growth

SENTIA Spirits has strengthened its position within the fast-growing functional drinks sector following last month’s launch of SENTIA Cider, its alcohol-free functional sparkling cider. The release marks a significant portfolio expansion for the UK- and Europe-based brand as it continues to capitalise on rising demand for premium no- and low-alcohol alternatives.

Co-founded by globally renowned neuropsychopharmacologist Professor David Nutt and early market disruptor David Orren, SENTIA Spirits has built a reputation for pioneering products that combine scientific expertise with premium drinking occasions. The introduction of SENTIA Cider signals the brand’s strategic move into alcohol-free cider, blending traditional cider-making heritage with modern functional innovation.

Crafted using classic cider apple varieties including Yarlington Mill, Dabinett and Redstreak, SENTIA Cider delivers the crisp character and depth expected from a quality sparkling cider. Gentle sweetness is balanced by a subtle dry edge, resulting in a refreshing, grown-up finish designed to replicate the pleasure and ritual of cider consumption without alcohol. Developed to promote relaxation and social connection, the product responds directly to consumer appetite for clarity and calm without compromising flavour or experience.

By launching at the start of the year, SENTIA Cider entered the market at a time when many consumers are reassessing their relationship with alcohol. However, the brand’s focus extends well beyond seasonal demand. The company sees sustained, long-term growth potential as mindful drinking continues to reshape purchasing behaviour across retail and hospitality channels.

“January is often framed around deprivation, but we see it as an opportunity for reimagining how we connect and unwind,” said David Orren, CEO of GABA Labs. “SENTIA Cider is about keeping the joy, the social ritual and the taste people love, while offering a more conscious way to drink. It’s not about giving something up, it’s about upgrading the experience.”

SENTIA Cider is available via the company website and is priced at £18 per case of six bottles, with the brand actively looking ahead to further distribution expansion and category growth throughout the year.
