Modern Milkman expanding range

Modern Milkman is expanding its grocery offering with a new selection of British-made products, responding to growing consumer demand for locally sourced produce, premium independent brands and more sustainable shopping options.

The doorstep delivery service has introduced a range of new additions, including cottage cheese from family-run Scottish producer All Things Dairy, UK-grown oat matcha latte from Oato, British strawberries from Annabel’s and a new soft plastics collection service.

The expansion comes as interest in British food continues to rise, with Red Tractor research showing that 90% of consumers want to see more food produced in the UK. Meanwhile, figures from the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) show cottage cheese sales have increased by 29.4% year on year, highlighting changing tastes and growing demand for high-protein products.

“We’ve seen growing consumer demand from our customers for more high-quality, locally sourced products,” said Jenny Thomason, UK Head of Commercial at Modern Milkman. “Requests for premium and independent food brands have become a major driver behind how we continue expanding the Modern Milkman range.”

Among the new additions is All Things Dairy Cottage Cheese, handmade on a family-run farm in East Lothian, Scotland using milk from grass-fed cows. Available in Natural, Mixed Berries and Mango flavours, the product contains live cultures, 45g of protein and just four ingredients. The range also includes Oato Fresh Oat Matcha Latte, made using UK-grown oats and designed to be enjoyed either chilled over ice or warmed as an alternative to traditional tea and coffee.

Modern Milkman has also partnered with Annabel’s to offer British strawberries delivered from field to doorstep. The female-founded, B Corp-certified brand focuses on sustainable farming practices and lower-impact packaging, with its strawberries supplied in recyclable cardboard trays with home-compostable windows.

Alongside the new food products, Modern Milkman has launched Soft Plastics Collection Bags to help customers recycle more easily at home. Customers can fill the bags with suitable soft plastics before the Modern Milkman team collects and manages the recycling process.

The latest additions reflect wider changes in consumer shopping habits, with more people looking for convenience without compromising on quality, sustainability or support for local producers.

Founded in the UK in 2018, Modern Milkman has grown from a local milk round in Colne, Lancashire into a national doorstep grocery delivery service. The company works with independent British suppliers and uses an app-based platform to optimise deliveries, helping to reduce waste by ensuring only required quantities are delivered. Customers can order fresh groceries and breakfast essentials up to three times a week, delivered in reusable glass bottles and returnable containers through a closed-loop system designed to reduce single-use packaging.

As a certified B Corp, sustainability remains central to Modern Milkman’s operations, from its reusable packaging model to its collections service and partnerships supporting local communities. The company also works with Hubbub through its Community Fridge Network to redistribute surplus food, while customers can donate the value of paused deliveries to help provide products to those in need.
