Once voted the most popular themed week in the UK, Chocolate Week is set to return this October backed by a committee of experts and professionals keen to promote fine-quality chocolate.
Chocolate companies across the UK are encouraged to host events and promotions. With everything from talks, tastings, demonstrations, new launches, chocolate sculptures, one-off experiences and discounts on offer, the week will showcase chocolate in all its forms.
The week launches on 12 & 13 October with the Cocoa Runners Craft Chocolate Fair, featuring two days of chocolate tastings, talks and events, alongside a market with craft chocolate makers from across the UK (and beyond), including Pump Street, Chocolarder, Tosier and Dormouse. The free-to-attend event will take place at Fidelio Café and concert venue in Farringdon, London, from 11am – 6pm. Tastings will include a discussion on health and chocolate with Professor Tim Spector, a cacao ceremony and chocolate pairings with wine and coffee.
Aneesh Popat, founder and chocolatier at The Chocolatier; Paul a Young, chocolatier and pastry chef; Jennifer Earle, founder of Chocolate Ecstasy Tours and International Chocolate Judge; Spencer Hyman, craft chocolate expert and Co-Founder of Cocoa Runners, and Kate Johns, original Chocolate Week founder and Managing Director at Nudge PR have joined to relaunch the celebration of the nation’s favourite treat.
A ‘Friends of Chocolate’ dinner takes place on 14 October at Scarlett Green in London. Hosted by Aneesh Popat, tickets are £55 for 3 courses, including a £5 donation to the Hurricane Relief Fund for St Vincent.
On 19 October Chocolate Unwrapped takes place, a multi-sensory journey of indulgence in the heart of London. Visitors will explore all four floors and be taken literally, from bean to the bar starting with cocoa beans and finishing with chocolate cocktails. Join brands such as Pump Street, Knoops, Melt Chocolates, Land Chocolate and Cocoa Runners as they showcase chocolate in all its forms, curating exclusive taste experiences, innovative pairings and unveiling new creations. Tickets are £40 for a one-hour timeslot.
