Unlike most other Whiskeys, Daddy Rack is Double Mellowed, a unique and distinctive process of filtration through maple charcoal (twice) to create the smoothest, silkiest finish imaginable.
Created by the Master Maker and Blender J. Arthur Rackham, aka Daddy Rack himself, an Englishman who started his career in Cognac and is now taking Tennessee by storm, with a Tennessee Straight Whiskey which honours tradition and tastes “just like it used to”.
Daddy Rack launched in Tennessee last Fall into 80% of the State’s liquor stores, delighting local whiskey lovers with a true to tradition, authentic Tennessee Straight Whiskey.
After a very successful local launch in its home state, Daddy Rack crossed the pond in Spring 2021, first to the top whiskey retailers in Scotland, then steadily increasing its national presence through key UK online retailers and finally nationwide retail through Waitrose. The new Waitrose listing is the first with a nationwide grocer for the brand as it welcomes drinkers to “Say Hello to Double Mellow”.
Tennessee Straight Whiskey is a unique style of spirit that conforms to the simple rules of a bourbon, meaning it needs to be made from at least 51% corn. However, unlike bourbon, which can be made in any State, Tennessee Whiskey can only be made within Tennessee, ensuring the process follows strict production and quality standards.
Tennessee Straight Whiskey must be made using the Lincoln County Process where the whiskey is filtered through a dense layer of maple charcoal after distillation. Daddy Rack is double mellowed, meaning that, unlike most Tennessee Whiskeys, this filtration process is repeated a second time, leaving you with an extra smooth, surprisingly light whiskey which is filled with character and flavour.
Daddy Rack is a Straight Whiskey, meaning no colouring or flavouring is added, and it is made from locally farmed high grade 1 corn, delivering a true taste of the American South and bringing to life the rich history and music halls of Nashville with every sip.
Daddy Rack has a philanthropic focus; in every market Daddy Rack is sold in, a local charity or philanthropic cause is supported in that country. Daddy Rack has partnered with Equal Measures to support its cause, proudly donating 50p with every bottle sold in the UK.
Positively influencing diversity in the cocktails and spirits industry – Equal Measures is a community group focusing on improving ethnic diversity in the drinks business, inspiring and training new professionals from minority ethnicities in bartending, as well as improving the working experiences of those of Black, Asian or other minority ethnicities in the trade.
Daddy Rack is light gold amber in appearance, with notes of maple, honey, light oak and caramelised banana. A smooth and buttery mouthfeel, with flavours of roasted apple and banana, leading on to vanilla and a hint of nutmeg, the finish is rich and warm with subtle notes of salted popcorn.
