Celebrating another year of success, investment, and more moments of childlike happiness, HARIBO retains its place as the UK’s leading sweets manufacturer. The company reports another strong financial year, achieving a record market share of 22.6% with four of the top ten bestselling products being HARIBO or MAOAM lines. HARIBO’s leading position in the category was achieved by a 7.7% increase in turnover, with export and domestic sales increasing by 9.7% and 7.6% respectively.

The announcement comes as the business continues to invest in West Yorkshire, unveiling recent investments totalling over £35 million. To ensure its facilities are best-in-class and to help safeguard jobs in Yorkshire for the long-term, HARIBO has invested in its site in Castleford in a new purpose-built warehouse opening early in 2026 – which has used a local supply chain – and an additional production and packaging line installed to help HARIBO meet growing demand for its much-loved treats.

Further growth can be found in HARIBO’s expanding retail presence. Hot on the heels of a successful opening in Kent’s Bluewater Shopping Centre, the team announced it will be arriving in Scotland with a location at Glasgow’s Silverburn Shopping Centre due to open later this year. More announcements about HARIBO’s retail stores are expected in the coming months

HARIBO UK is proud to be based in Yorkshire, its home for over 50 years. As the business continues to grow, it is committed to keep investing in the region and playing an active part in supporting the community. In 2024, HARIBO helped Martin House Children’s Hospice raise close to half a million pounds through various fundraising initiatives, and following a successful first year in 2024, the company is once again the headline sponsor at the upcoming Pontefract Liquorice Festival. The event, taking place this year on 13th July 2025, will see thousands of residents and tourists fill the streets to celebrate the town’s proud sweet-making tradition.

Jon Hughes, Managing Director, HARIBO UK & Ireland said: “We’re proud of HARIBO UK’s performance in 2024, and to once again be the most popular choice for consumers within our category. Through ongoing investment in our production sites and continued innovation across our treats, stores, people and community initiatives, we continue to bring more moments of childlike happiness and to be part of Yorkshire’s proud next chapter of food manufacturing excellence.”
