Ahead of Earth Day, eco-friendly wine brand Sea Change Wine has announced it has now passed €750,000 in total donations to ocean conservation, driven by nearly 2.9 million bottles sold since its launch in 2018.
Timed to this year’s Earth Day theme, “Our Power, Our Planet”, the Surrey-based brand says the milestone reflects steady growth for its impact-led model, where every bottle sold contributes directly to conservation projects.
In 2025, funding supported Sea-Changers in awarding grants to 17 UK coastal conservation projects, from kelp forest restoration in Scotland’s islands to shark monitoring in Cornwall. Demand for funding continues to outstrip supply, with more than 80 applications submitted over the year.
Through its partnership with Ocean Generation, Sea Change also helped reach over 15.8 million people globally in 2025 through ocean education programmes, supported by more than £250,000 in cumulative donations. Meanwhile, the Olive Ridley Project used funding to survey 209 sea turtle nesting beaches across six oceans, finding microplastics present at 45% of sites worldwide and 80% of sites in the Mediterranean.
The brand says its model is designed to make impact measurable at every stage, from production through to donation, with over 2,814,497 products sold since launch. Packaging is fully plastic-free, and the business reports a 56.3 tonne CO₂e reduction against projected targets in 2025.
Simon Rolfe, Co-founder and Director at Sea Change, said: “The wine industry is at an inflection point. Regulation is finally catching up with what responsible brands have been doing voluntarily for years, and that’s going to separate the ones who built sustainability into their DNA from the ones who added it on. The conversation has shifted from ‘why should we?’ to ‘how fast can we?’”
The brand says the focus now is on scaling impact further, as demand for funding continues to outpace available resources across conservation partners.
