innocent and Felix to rescue 175,000 portions of fruit and veg

innocent drinks and food redistribution charity Felix have pledged to help rescue and redistribute 175,000 portions of fruit and veg to people across the UK in 2026.

The initiative aims to tackle food waste while increasing access to fresh produce at a time when continued cost-of-living pressures are placing strain on household food budgets.

The funding builds on a long-standing relationship between the two organisations. Over the years, Felix has helped redistribute innocent’s surplus juices and smoothies through its network of charities and community organisations. The latest commitment will enable Felix to rescue and redistribute even more fruit and vegetables to people who need them.

“Our partnership with Felix is about helping more people enjoy the goodness of fruit and veg at a time when people aren’t getting enough,” said Louisa Handley, Head of Healthy Sustainable Diets at innocent. “Less than one in five adults and one in ten 11-to-18-year-olds get their 5 A Day. By helping to deliver 175,000 portions of fruit and veg to people across the UK, we can make a practical difference and bring the power of fruit and veg to more people.”

The partnership has also seen innocent employees take part in Felix’s food rescue activities. During a recent volunteering day, staff joined Felix and other volunteers in an orchard to harvest apples that would otherwise have been left unpicked.

By the end of the day, volunteers had rescued 2.7 tonnes of apples, which were transported for redistribution the following day.

Emma Burns, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at Felix, said: “It was great to have innocent at the orchard with us and rescuing 2.7 tonnes of apples is a brilliant start to this year’s farm rescue programme. As demand for our services continues to grow, support from partners like innocent is more important than ever. Through donating surplus stock, volunteering and funding 175,000 portions of fruit and veg, innocent is helping us rescue more good food and get it to charities and community organisations across the UK. We’re incredibly grateful for their commitment to this work.”

The organisations said the partnership will help ensure more surplus fruit and vegetables are redirected to charities and community groups rather than going to waste.
