Leading boiler and home heating manufacturer, Worcester Bosch, has joined the London Cocktail Week celebrations with the launch of a new, sustainability-themed cocktail in collaboration with cocktail bar Boiler & Company.
The limited-edition cocktail – titled The Hybrid – will be available on the Southwark-based Boiler & Company menu for one month and has been designed to get the public talking about the future of home heating.
The Hybrid combines two spirits, the sustainably produced Discarded Grape Skin Vodka and Pineapple Riesling to form the hybrid base of the cocktail. This mix of two ingredients is reflective of a hybrid heating system, of which inspires the name. A hybrid heat pump system is a technology that is fast becoming a viable alternative for future heating, with two different sources working together to provide optimal warmth for homeowners. The clear appearance of the cocktail draws back to the need for cleaner fuel sources in the future.
During a time of turbulence in the energy and technology sector, Worcester Bosch hopes that its partnership generates conversation, and puts front of mind, the matter of sustainability and green heating.
“We are delighted to be getting involved with London Cocktail Week for the first time and launching our first ever cocktail,” Nicola Fisher, PR Manager at Worcester Bosch, said. “This is unlike any other partnership we have ever done as a home heating manufacturer. We wanted to shine a light on the small changes that can be made to live greener – a matter that is becoming increasingly urgent to talk about and solve together.
“We hope as many people can try our Hybrid cocktail at Boiler & Company, and ultimately spark conversations around low carbon, greener heating over a drink or two.”
“It has been great working with Worcester Bosch to develop ‘The Hybrid’ – a modern take on the traditional and historic Dry Martini,” Adam Carr, Co-Founder and Chief Mixologist, Boiler & Company, said. “As a company we always push for innovation and sustainability, and it is a key theme of ours in our business running. Although we are in very different industries, the opportunity to collaborate on something different for London Cocktail Week was one we did not want to pass up.”
The Hybrid is available from today until 13th November 2022 at Boiler & Company, 5 Canvey Street, SE1 9AN, London.
