From today a special limited-edition Ukrainian-themed version of Stoli vodka is available in the UK, with proceeds going to Stoli Group’s goal of raising $1million (~£800K) by Ukraine’s Independence Day on 24 August for World Central Kitchen (WCK), a non-profit organisation that is providing 100,000s of fresh nutritious meals daily to refugees fleeing Ukraine or displaced within it.
The specially designed blue and yellow bottle will be the first vodka to solely use the brand “Stoli” following the recently announced decision to drop the iconic “Stolichnaya” name in response to the invasion of Ukraine.
The vibrant pattern that adorns Stoli premium vodka’s new Ukraine limited edition design is inspired by the communities around the world that have come together to support the people of Ukraine.
“As Ukrainians continue to suffer unimaginable losses, we are doing our small part to show unequivocal support,” said Damian McKinney, Global CEO, Stoli Group. “At the outset of this conflict Stoli Group immediately provided relocation, financial and emotional support to employees and business partners in Ukraine. This limited edition Stoli Vodka bottle will not only provide financial resources to feed Ukrainian refugees, it is also a symbol of solidarity between Stoli’s team and customers with Ukraine.
“We will be doing everything possible over the next few weeks to maximise proceeds, which includes auctioning it at events and promotions in numerous clubs and bars. One bottle has already gone for £420, and I am hoping for lots of similarly generous bids.”
Stoli Group is holding numerous events around the UK to raise funds Ukrainian refugees. Many will include “Cocktails for Ukraine” with at least £2 for each cocktail going to the Appeal in addition to the proceeds from ticket sales. Customers will also have the opportunity to learn more and donate further to WCK by scanning the QR code on the menu or by accessing this link – https://donate.wck.org/team/417707
These events include, sponsoring National Student Pride (8-10 April). UK’s largest LGBTQ+ student event. 5,000 members of the LGBTQ+ community from across the UK come to London for a host of talks, careers fairs and evening events. Stoli was the principal partner, with 100% of bar proceeds going to Stoli’s World Central Kitchen appeal, as well as QR codes allowing attendees to also donate directly.
The bottle will be on sale at 25 partner bars and clubs around the country, as well as at numerous events and other promotions over the coming months. The most recent of these special events was on Thursday 21 April where Stoli partnered with The Eagle in Vauxhall, London, to host “Slav To The Rhythm”, a night celebrating the Easter European Queer scene, with proceeds again going to Stoli’s appeal for World Central Kitchen’s humanitarian work with Ukrainian refugees.
Stoli Vodka is manufactured in Latvia and Stoli’s Global HQ is in Luxembourg. In addition to being available at Stoli’s numerous Ukrainian support promotions at bars and events around the country, the limited-edition Ukraine Vodka is also available for purchase online from selected specialist spirits e-tailers with RRP of £40.
