British sweet manufacturer Swizzels has added a chocolate coin to its iconic Love Hearts range as it urges people to share the love this Valentine’s Day, whatever their relationship status. Available in Home Bargains and online, the chocolate coin features a ‘FOR YOU’ message, making it suitable for sharing with anyone, not just a romantic partner.
Launched over 60 years ago, Love Hearts have always been the perfect gift for cosy couples to exchange on Cupid’s big day, but Swizzels says singletons need to feel the love, too. Research by the company revealed that nearly 60% of singles say self-love is a priority on Valentine’s Day.
“Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love in all its forms,” Claire Lee, senior brand manager, said. “So, yes, let’s celebrate romantic love and relationships but let’s also be kind to ourselves.
“We change the messages on Love Hearts regularly to reflect the times, which is one of the reasons they’ve remained a timeless classic, but we’re always looking for other ways to share the love.
“A chocolate Love Heart was the perfect answer – it’s a delicious addition to our existing range.”
To coincide with Valentine’s Day, Swizzels has also launched a #BeYourOwnValentine competition on social media which gives fans a chance to win the Valentine’s Day of their dreams. This could be a spa day, ordering your favourite food for a night in, or a trip to the theatre, as well as a Love Hearts goody box.
